Academic Credit

Depending on the program, credit is granted by Santa Clara I.C. or another accredited educational institution. Course credit is transferable to American schools and universities, which will grant two credits for 40 hours of classroom time. For specific information or assistance regarding transfer of credits, please contact our US office

Admissions
Santa Clara International College welcomes applications from students of all ages who are in good standing at accredited North American Schools, Colleges and Universities. No official transcripts are required for the Summer Language Programs. The Admissions Committee appreciates maturity, independence, curiosity, openness to cultural diversity, resilience, and the emotional fortitude for studying abroad.

Registration, Enrollment & Cost Issues

Summer courses fill quickly and they are limited to twenty five students per class. To insure your space in the program we recommend that you register far in advance of the program deadline.  In order to enroll, you must forward a completed registration with a $100 non-refundable deposit to confirm your space in the program. To obtain an application form, please contact our office or simply complete the Send More Information form. After we receive your completed registration, we will mail you a confirmation letter and a packet of important information to help you prepare for the trip.

Your reservation will be held for 20 days after your registration, at which time, we must receive an additional deposit of 10% of your total class cost. This additional deposit is completely refundable up to 60 days prior to class start day, after which cancellation will be subject to cancellation fees.

Final payment for the balance of the cost of the program is due 60 days before the program start date.  Upon receipt, final instructions and a finalized schedule will be processed and forwarded.

All course costs are per person and based on an average group size of twenty five.   The cost of Summer Language courses are complete in every detail with the exception of transportation. For cost information on the Spanish Language programs go to Cost Information

Financial Aid & Scholarships
Santa Clara does not presently offer any financial aid, however, students receiving financial aid from their home institution may be able to apply it to Santa Clara's costs. Contact our US office if you have any questions.

Housing & Lodging
During their stay in Spain students can live with a Spanish family or live on campus. The determining factors are often the age and objectives of the student. Host families are carefully selected and regularly monitored, in many respects they can be viewed as an extension of the School's staff. For some students, living with a family is a very effective way to learn in depth about the country, its culture and its people. For others, living in the Center with native, as well as other international students, may be the preferred way. The Santa Clara Center is located in a quiet residential area with lovely surroundings. The accommodations afford students and faculty numerous opportunities for interaction, enabling us to provide students with close, personal attention. Whether living with a family or on campus, students are guaranteed a way to apply the language outside the classroom and to learn the day to day living aspects of the Spanish culture. Accommodations for summer students will be on campus.

Other Student Services

As part of its programs, Santa Clara I.C. offers a variety of student services and facilities designed to provide a safe and rich environment for all its students. The school's M.D. and counseling staff are always available. Excursions take place twice a week and include visits to museums, ancient castles, churches, palaces, and the beautiful Costa Brava with its marvelous beaches and scenic villages. For travel and excursions, the school furnishes its own bus transportation. Cafeteria, study areas, and indoor and outdoor sport facilities are also provided. As part of its extended services, Santa Clara also offers optional courses in tennis, golf, martial arts, dance, music and equitation.

Behavioral Expectations & Younger Students
To enroll in any program, students under the age of 18 will need permission from their parents or legal guardian. Participants are expected to be courteous and respectful at all times and follow the School's rules of behavior.
